I will dominate 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.
Ex two time world heavyweight champion Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami venue on 19 December.
Fighter's Attitude
"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Interaction
Despite those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead criticized former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British opponent Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Opponent
Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.
Jake Paul's History
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, regularly earning substantial earnings.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.
Physical Disparity
As the two fighters engaged in the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how surprising this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly proceeding.
